WORK HISTORY
Title V Operating Permit Engineer @Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment
Denver, CO, US
As a Title V Operating Permit Engineer with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment(CDPHE), I write and renew Title V operating permits for major sources of air pollution in Colorado. My responsibilities include reviewing permit applications, evaluating emissions data and calculations, determining regulatory applicability, and incorporating modifications. I review and incorporate requirements for air pollution control devices, including evaluating control efficiencies and establishing enforceable operating, monitoring, and recordkeeping conditions to ensure compliance. I collaborate directly with facilities throughout the permitting process and respond to public comments on draft permits. I’m also involved in Environmental Justice(EJ) efforts within the division, working with various groups to discuss updates to regulations and provide input from the Title V perspective. This includes helping EJ staff better understand how permitting works, interpreting EJ regulations for the Title V team, giving feedback on regulatory proposals and tools like EnviroScreen(an environmental justice mapping tool), and supporting various other initiatives.
