Manage a team of 25 Financial Counselors across all Kaleida and Twin Tiers hospital sites.We assist uninsured and underinsured (Medicare, No Fault, Workers Comp) patients in resolving the financial responsibility of their healthcare charges by exploring financial options such as Medicaid applications, and/or qualifications for financial assistance in accordance with charity care policy and procedure.Maintain working knowledge of all regulations, standards and directives established by governmental/regulatory agencies or third-party payers as they related to enrollment activities, patient collections, payment assistance programs, customer service activities, corporate compliance and any related reporting requirements. Oversee the Financial Assistance team, ensuring we continuously meet NYS HFAL regulations, updating our policy and procedures as needed. Project managed a Kaleida system –wide regulation update. Presenting at all management meetings and ensuring all processes were in place and working. Continue to monitor that our hospitals and clinics meet the State requirements.Manage a team of LTC Financial counselors, working in collaboration with our two Skilled Nursing Facilities and the business office to ensure a payer source for our residents. My team completes the LTC Medicaid application processEstablished a team of Financial Counselors at our Twin Tiers Sites: Bradford Regional, Olean General and Brooks Memorial. This entails Insurance enrollment, financial assistance and Good Faith Estimates (No Surprise Act)Participate and engage in multiple Revenue Cycle meetings and improvement meetings-working collaboratively with other teams to ensure the best financial outcomes for our patients and the hospital
