ABOUT EMILY PERRY
I am a capable, highly adaptable, and results-driven professional who excels in both leadership and support positions. My strong desire to learn and enthusiasm to continue personal & professional development propel me continually to explore new avenues. My professional background spans both the nonprofit and business worlds, where I have chiefly worked in event planning and programming. Early into my career, I learned concrete skills at the intersection of event management and youth advocacy programming through the YMCA of Middle Tennessee\'s Youth Government and Model United Nations. These lessons carried me through experiences in student support on college campuses and as a Program Manager at Memphis In May International Festival in 2020, which was unfortunately halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I have pivoted to the real estate sector in recent years, where I have adapted my skillset to better serve both business and tenant interests, and look forward to learning as much as I can in this environment. I spent four years at Rhodes College in Memphis, TN where I majored in Russian Studies with a minor in Economics, which culminated in an Honors Research project in the fields of General Linguistics, Translation, and the Orthodox Christian experience within the Russian Empire and Soviet Union. I went on to receive my MA in Russian & Slavic Studies from New York University, funded by the Stephen Cohen Fellowship. There, my research focused around Russian and Former Soviet Church-State relations, and my MA Thesis focused on \"Traditional Values\" rhetoric and scapegoating in Russian public policy from 2012 onwards.
