ABOUT EMILY PATTERSON

Hi! I’m Emily. I grew up in South London since 2017 and have always been inspired by the Police Force. Majority of my family come from either armed forces or blue light services. It’s in the blood! I experienced difficult issues at a young age that a child should have never faced. I was a victim of CSE, missing from home and associated with gangs and eventually went in care. I want to use my experiences to support other young girls/ women who are going through what I went through. I don’t often read in depth young peoples background unless necessary, I take them face value. Everyone can change and I believe with the right tools and dedicated people the world would be a better place for all. I was a Police Cadet in London for 2 years and was promoted as Team Leader. I studied Public Services at college, ending with a D* grade. I became an adult mental health support worker working with challenging individuals but always had their best interests at heart. I recently joined Nottinghamshire Police as a Youth Outreach apprentice in CiPD department. I work with vulnerable young people who are at risk of harm or socially/ financially excluded from society. We provide young people 1-1 support, interventions, community events and opportunities!
