About Emily Ortega-Mosqueda

I am a first-generation college student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting at the University of Kansas, with plans to continue into the Master of Accounting program and become CPA-eligible by Spring 2027. As a Tax Intern at Glass Consulting LLC, I’ve gained experience with QuickBooks, journal entries, financial reporting, and tax preparation, which has strengthened my technical skills and interest in the field. At KU, I’m involved in Beta Alpha Psi and work as a Student Assistant at the Student Engagement Center, helping support events and create an inclusive environment.Before KU, I was part of the Honors Program and Phi Theta Kappa at Johnson County Community College and served as Treasurer for Latinos United Now and Always. I now continue developing leadership as Treasurer of the Hispanic Business Students Association. I’m excited to continue growing in the accounting profession and make a meaningful impact in the communities I’m part of.
