ABOUT EMILY MATTINGLY

I am an associate in Stoll Keenon Ogden’s Louisville office and have been with the firm since 2014. I\'m a member of the Business Litigation practice group, representing a wide range of companies from small, locally-owned businesses to Fortune 500 companies in various business disputes, including breach of contract and negligence actions. I\'m also a member of the Construction Law and Tort Trial & Insurance Services practice groups. In addition to my litigation experience, I have experience in providing external in-house services to clients, which provides me with a unique perspective with respect to client relations and understanding the needs and operations of the clients SKO serves. In that role, I regularly conduct review of various contracts, master service agreements, confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements, staffing agreements, and real estate leases for the client in business negotiations with a variety of customers, vendors and consultants. From a litigation perspective, I respond to claims on behalf of the client, advise as to strategy and procedure in disputes with customers, vendors and employees, and coordinate the litigation process internally for the client. I also address human resources and employment-related disputes, such as analyzing claims under the ADA and FMLA as well as responding to EEOC charges and investigating claims. Fueled by a passion for kids, I am currently serving on the Board of Directors for City Schoolhouse, a local Montessori school in the Portland neighborhood with a mission to strengthen children and families by empowering them through active and individualized education, fostering a love of learning, and renewing the community. I have also raised funds for and organized a team to walk in the March of Dimes, March for Babies Walk since 2016, and I am currently serving on the March for Babies’ Executive Leadership Team. I enjoy spending time with my husband, Clint, and our two sons, Noah and Simon.
