ABOUT EMILY MATIJEVICH
I lead the data science and applied research team at Orpyx Medical Technologies, a digital health company committed to extending healthspan for people living with diabetes through personalized remote care. I am motivated by the transformative effects movement has on our physical, emotional, and social health and am eager to contribute to evidence-based solutions that keep us moving.I am passionate about wearable, assistive, and sport technologies that reduce the risk of overuse injuries, enhance human performance, and extend mobility. My research focus is delivering accurate and practical wearable sensor algorithms that fuse biomechanics, multi-modal sensing, and machine learning. My interests include data science, footwear biomechanics, medical imaging, and assistive technologies. In my free time I enjoy teaching yoga, adventuring in the Canadian Rockies, or helping on my partner\'s farm. Movement IS medicine.
