About Emily Lowndes Prauner

Change is inevitable, growth is optional, perspective is everything. After nearly a decade away from Omaha, I made a deliberate, intentional choice to leave Kansas City and return to and invest in the community that raised me. That transition process was more challenging than anticipated, but leaning in and embracing the process taught me about resiliency, flexibility, and community-building.I am grateful to experience Omaha from two lenses – as both a local and as a transplant.I wholeheartedly believe philanthropy is for everybody - everyone has something to give (whether it be financial resources, expertise, or the most precious resource of all: time). It is an honor to invite people to DREAM OF & PARTICIPATE IN making Omaha the best place for all to live.Issue areas I am most passionate about include youth mentorship (especially opportunities to empower girls) and environmental sustainability and nature conservation. Dream job: National Park Service or National Park Foundation.
