As the Lead Engineering Peer Advisor I am in charge of the Engineering Peer Advising Program at Santa Clara University. I lead a team of 13 Peer Advisors who oversee 400 first-year engineering students. Each Peer Advisor (including myself) is assigned a group of ~30 engineering students, and we help our advisees acclimate to SCU Engineering through events, academic advising, and regular communication.My role includes planning events, hosting meetings, setting the vision and goals of our program, in addition to performing the duties of a traditional Peer Advisor. We exist to ensure that every first-year engineering student feels supported, connected to resources, and known.
