About Emily Hyland
As HDR’s Professional Services Cross Sector Director for the Resources Business Group, I help shape how we deliver integrated, future‑ready solutions across markets. Over my 19 years with HDR, I’ve built my career on partnership by bringing together public stakeholders, client leaders, and multidisciplinary teams to create programs that work and relationships that last. My background in Strategic Communications, combined with my experience supporting our cross sector business class leaders, has given me a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities that come with connecting people, markets, and technical expertise. I’m passionate about removing barriers, elevating strong leaders, and building pathways for teams to thrive. In my current role, I focus on: • Strengthening collaboration across geographies and business groups • Identifying emerging market needs, skills, and technical capabilities • Supporting our talent through several HDR career development programs • Ensuring our cross sector services (environmental, right of way, strategic communications, sustainability and resilience, geospatial, and management consulting) evolve in step with our clients and the markets we serve Outside of work, you’ll usually find me trail running, paddling, reading, shopping local, or enjoying a Broadway show. I love time on the water with my husband and two boys supporting their growing love of fishing and embracing life “adventure to adventure.” I’m energized by big ideas, collaborative teams, and the opportunity to build what comes next.
