Assessment, Program Intervention, Monitoring, and Evaluation are vital to the principles of TR. Meeting with multidisciplinary clinical team semi-weekly ensures that practices are beneficial to the whole person receiving treatment. Therapeutic recreation is implemented both in groups and individual formats.The disease states encountered in this unit of healthcare include moderate to severe dementia, Parkinson’s disease, arthritic contractures, severe depression with suicidal ideation, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, and substance abuse withdrawal.
