About Emily Garcia

Hi, my name is Emily! I will be graduating with a Bachelor’s of Science in Politics and the Economy with a certificate in Russian and East European Studies.(May 2022) I’m a twenty-something with a passion for creating spaces for young people to discuss politics in a productive, empathetic way. I have experience in internal auditing that allowed me to grow my critical thinking, risk assessment, communication, and Excel skills. As an internal audit intern, I assisted my team on three different audits, each at varying stages in the audit process. Throughout my time with BridgeUSA, I have led and designed a ten week fellowship that equipped ten high schoolers with moderation and leadership skills. As for my future, I’m open to exploring opportunities within internal audit and applying my skills in the private sector. Also, I am very interested in learning more about public and foreign policy and hope to one day work in the State Department or another related government/NGO entity. Outside of academics and work, you can find me reading at a local coffee shop or paddle boarding on the weekends!
