Competitive NSF Research Traineeship supporting cohorts of doctoral students in convergent training at the interface of artificial intelligence, data science, and basic and applied plant sciences• Integrate lab-derived multi-omics datasets with field data, leveraging the statistical analyses, ML, artificial neural networks, and other AI methodologies to accelerate translation of basic plant science research to the field• Participated in a 3‑week Summer Graduate Bridge Program (July – August 2025), including- Industry visits to leading ag‑biotech and analytics firms - On‑farm field immersion across Eastern NC working with growers to explore AI applications in agriculture - Interdisciplinary mini‑courses in data science, responsible AI, and lab bench skills co‑taught by faculty and trainers• Complete interdisciplinary graduate coursework in AI Literacy in Agriculture, Statistical Methods for Researchers II, Responsible AI and Society, and Advanced Analytics to Agriculture, Food and Life Sciences Data• Collaborate on a team-based capstone project comprised of one student each from basic plant sciences, applied plant sciences, and computer engineering to address real-world agricultural challenges• Engage in professional development through social series mentoring, university workshops, individual professional development plan (IDP) reflections, networking events, and internship or externships with industry or NGO or grower organizations
