WORK HISTORY
Visiting Scholar @Northwell Health
Collaborate with Dr. Sundus Siddique and Dr. Jacqueline Moline on Northwell Health’s Occupational Lung Registry project, a registry that combines yearly health screening data from hundreds of asbestos-exposed union workers in the NY/NJ area. Assess 2019 outcome data for participants from letters sent post-screening and from CT grading notes. Input all data into a spreadsheet, complete with patient information, which abnormalities were detected in their screening, and suggested next steps. Analyze outcome data in SAS to see how occupation, duration of asbestos exposure, and trade were related to various lung/pleural outcomes. Attend health screenings for union workers to gain an understanding of how participant data is collected.

ABOUT EMILY FITZPATRICK
I am an MPH in Epidemiology student at the University of Pittsburgh interested in cancer epidemiology, AIDS epidemiology, and pharamceutical development. I earned my B.S. in Chemistry from SUNY Geneseo and graduated summa cum laude in May 2024. While at Geneseo, I gained wet lab experience in Dr. Eric Helms\' green organic chemistry lab, and learned about sexual health and public health communication through the development of an on-campus sexual health and education program with Dr. Amy Braksmajer. I was also a teaching assistant for a general chemistry lab for a year, and completed an organic chemistry internship with FMC Corporation in the summer of 2022.
