Emily Demps is a graduate of Louisiana State University’s Ogden Honors College, where she earned a degree in International Management with a minor in Political Science. As a Louisiana Service and Leadership (LASAL) Scholar, she combined academic research with service-focused leadership, particularly in the areas of food equity and sustainable operations. At LSU, she led initiatives like the LSU Food Pantry and Project 225’s Food Insecurity Branch, applying classroom insights to real-world challenges.Her experience spans the food industry—from customer-facing roles at Starbucks and Marble Slab Creamery to corporate internships with Sysco and Feeding Louisiana. These experiences strengthened her commitment to improving food systems through operational strategy and corporate responsibility.Emily will begin her career at Amazon as an Area Manager, leading teams, managing strategic projects, and driving continuous improvement. She will also pursue her Master of Science in Logistics and Supply Chain Management at Georgia Southern University, with plans to later earn a Social Impact MBA to continue advancing equity and sustainability in global logistics and food systems.
