ABOUT EMILY CROWHURST
I have been working in UK state secondary & all-through schools since 2010, as a teacher, leader and curriculum builder/developer. Currently lead a unique 4-18 music curriculum at School21, with a core focus on learning about & making music in an authentic & purposeful way with Real World community outcomes and collaborations. Named ‘Outstanding school music department’ at the 2024 Music & Drama Education Awards. Responsible for founding, leading & fundraising for the pioneering Band Project Programme at School21, providing sustainable access to ensemble music making & instrumental learning for over 200 disadvantaged children every year through an immersive ensemble set up (Big Band, Wind Band, String orchestra, etc) with professional musicians & a community centred approach.*searching for long term sponsorship*Wide portfolio of presentations at Education conferences & events, notably BETT, Westminster Education Forum, MTA conferences, Sussex Secondary Music conference & Music & Drama Expo.
