About Emily Clark
In September 2019, I completed my MA in Postcolonial Culture and Global Policy with a concentration in climate change policy. My thesis focused on the IPCC Special Report on Global Warming of 1.5°C and the proposed United States Green New Deal legislation. I analysed proposed mitigation and adaptation pathways through an intersectional lens with a particular critical focus on the concepts of ‘green growth’ and eco-capitalism.While studying, I worked part-time at a small literary scouting agency in London as an assistant scout. I supplemented my studies and part-time work by volunteering as an editor of the international newsletter of climate activist group Extinction Rebellion. I served as an Expert Reviewer on the first order draft of the IPCC AR6 Working Group 2021 report on mitigation. I hope to build connections and engage in endeavors that promote social responsibility and an entrepreneurial spirit to affect change.
