ABOUT EMILY BROADBENT

I am currently working as a Company Secretarial Assistant within the legal team at RSK Group based in Helsby, UK. In this role I assist with matters relating to company law and compliance within a private capacity. Some aspects of my role include producing board minutes for director meetings, appointing and resigning directors, allotting and transferring shares within the company, completing invoice requests, and responding to KYC and UBO queries. In July, I will join the Chartered Governance Institute and begin working towards my CGI qualification.In July 2025, I graduated with a distinction in my LLM in International Human Rights at Manchester Metropolitan University. I completed the Human Rights & Healthcare, International Human Rights, and Independent Studies units in my first semester. In my second semester I completed the Law, Terrorism and Human Rights, Equalities and Human Rights, and Research Proposal units. I also won the award for \'Best Academic Proposal 2024\' during this time. My dissertation focused on the UK\'s Prevent Policy and its impact on Muslim communities. This earned a distinction.I was the LLM Course Representative from 20••••24. I also held this position in the LLB from 20••••23. I am the admissions manager, senior editor, and issue manager of the 2024 issue of the Manchester Law Journal.I graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University in July 2023 with a First Class Honours Degree in Law (LLB). My Undergraduate Dissertation focussed on counter-terrorism legislation and human rights in the UK. I was one of the Top 50 students in the first year of the LLB. I was chosen as one of 14 students to attend the Eversheds Sutherland \'day in practice\' in 2023.
