Aberystwyth, GB

As a Disability Needs Assessor, I have extensive experience assessing the unique learning needs of students entering higher education with a range of disabilities and medical conditions. Using my knowledge, skills and expertise, I engage with students to identify their needs and provide recommendations such as specialised equipment and non-medical helpers that could assist them in fulfilling their academic objectives. I am also able to liaise with stakeholders such as the student, funding bodies, higher education institutions and suppliers to ensure that each student has access to the support they require. I have excellent listening and information-gathering skills that enable me to communicate important information with clarity and tact while creating detailed and personalised reports for each student. My goal is to help students succeed in their chosen fields by providing them with the necessary resources to help them navigate the higher education landscape. On top of my role as a Disability Needs Assessor, I am also an active committee member of the company\'s Ability Network, subchapter Neurodiversity Chapter. During our monthly meetings, we discuss and plan ways to make the company more accessible, accommodating, and inclusive for individuals who are neurodivergent. This role has given me unique insight into the challenges that individuals with differing abilities face within work settings and has allowed me to actively contribute to positive change within my organisation. In my capacity as a Disability Needs Assessor and committee member, I bring compassion, empathy and knowledge to provide exceptional advice to individuals and businesses alike. My goal is to lead by example in creating an inclusive workplace where everyone can feel valued and comfortable.
