ABOUT EMILY BOND

I am now an in-house healthcare solicitor in NHS England\'s legal team, sitting within the litigation domain. I currently specialise in handling clinical and non-clinical claims, inquests, Regulation 28 / Prevention of Future Deaths (PFD) reports, judicial reviews and other litigation arising from mental health and public law matters.My previous experience in private practice included handling clinical negligence claims, Court of Protection matters (including serious medical treatment cases, welfare matters and s21A MCA proceedings), funding disputes and judicial reviews, inquests, PFD reports and providing general healthcare advice. I was also involved in a high-profile patient recall project for a private healthcare provider. I began my legal career specialising in Defendant personal injury and insurance work, and qualified into clinical negligence in March 2018. During the 4 years I specialised in health litigation, I dealt with instructions from various medical defence organisations and handled a range of complex litigated and pre-action matters, including vicarious liability actions, dental negligence claims and medical claims brought against GPs, individual hospital practitioners and NHS Trusts. I transitioned to healthcare advisory work in April 2022, and was able to build on my experience of supporting and defending healthcare professionals, by providing advice and assistance to various healthcare clients.
