ABOUT EMILY BERTA

As Director of Nursing Professional Practice and Education at Allegheny Health Network, over three years of leadership have been dedicated to advancing nursing standards and professional development. The role focuses on overseeing evidence-based policies, program development, and education initiatives that enhance patient care quality and safety across the organization. Expertise spans nursing education, clinical content creation, and program management, supported by a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) in Nursing Education. Concurrently, as an Assistant Professor at Georgetown University School of Nursing for over 13 years, contributions include teaching graduate-level courses for Advanced Practice Nurses in pharmacology, physiology, and health assessment. Responsibilities also include course coordination, ensuring academic excellence in online and intensive formats. Commitment to fostering nursing excellence is further demonstrated through certifications in Basic Life Support, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and through my work as a peer reviewer for various professional nursing journals.
