About Emily Barton

Emily Barton is an Associate at Beacon Global Strategies, where she supports clients across sectors on issues related to U.S. national security, geopolitical risk, and emerging technology. Ms. Barton started at Beacon Global Strategies in 2024 as an Analyst. Prior to her role as an Analyst, she was the Programmatic Manager for RKD Group, directing programmatic operations, staff, and strategic priorities for nonprofit clients. Ms. Barton has also worked as a Communications Director for the Texas Freedom Network and interned with the United Nations Information Center. At the Information Center, she tracked emerging international conflicts and supported U.N. communications with the U.S. federal government. While earning her undergraduate degree, Ms. Barton completed an honors thesis on the work of non-governmental organizations in Kenya. Emily is passionate about national security, with a specific interest in strategic competition.Ms. Barton holds an M.A. in Global Policy Studies from the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs, where she completed a graduate portfolio in International Security Studies with the Clements Center for National Security. Ms. Barton holds a B.A. in International Relations and Global Studies from the University of Texas at Austin.
