ABOUT EMILY ANDREWS

Emily Andrews is the director of education, labor & worker justice at the Center for Law and Social Policy (CLASP). In this role she leads a team of experts focused on job quality, workers’ rights, workforce development, and postsecondary education.Prior to joining CLASP, Emily was the director of new organizing strategies at Community Change where she focused on testing new tools and methods to organize workers earning low incomes and communities experiencing disinvestment. During Emily\'s tenure at Community Change, she also served as Deputy Chief of Staff, acting as a strategic advisor to the President on organizational priorities and supervising multiple directors and areas of programmatic work. As a senior research analyst with the Teamster’s Driving Up Standards campaign, she led the research portfolio on a senior-level cross department team charged with crafting short- and long-term organizing, contract, and corporate campaign strategies in the school bus industry, leading to the successful organizing and representation of more than school transportation employees. Prior to the Teamsters, Emily was a lead organizer and organizing trainer for the Service Employees International Union and the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now International. She has supported the successful organizing of child care, health care, education, and transportation workers in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Peru.Emily holds a bachelor’s degree from Oberlin College, a master’s degree in international affairs from The New School, and a master’s of public policy from Princeton University.
