ABOUT EMILIE COMBET
Research scientist driving innovative projects spanning food systems, nutrition and health. Trained in analytical biochemistry, I have expertise in managing large-scale inter-disciplinary teams and research projects, solving problems and developing strategic partnerships. I initiate and facilitate the development of creative and positive leadership to develop non-traditional opportunities to solve pressing societal challenges, especially in health.My research focuses on food, nutrition and the lifecycle. With specific interests in- metabolism and stress, in the context of obesity, weight management cardiometabolic and gut health- stress and inflammation in the context of obesity and type 2 diabetes- Food reformulation and nutrient profiling- Dietary choice and micronutrient intake/statusI also have an active interest in science translation, communication and policy, and am one of four commissioners appointed to the statutory Scottish Food Commission.
