ABOUT EMILIANO ROSAS
Emiliano Rosas was born and raised in the Broderick and Bryte neighborhoods of West Sacramento, where he gained a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities facing his community. His early leadership set the stage for a professional path spanning government, education, and the nonprofit sector.Rosas’s public service career began as a young intern in the California State Assembly and has come full circle as he now proudly serves as a District Representative for State Senator Christopher Cabaldon, his longtime mentor. In addition to his professional work, Emiliano is deeply engaged in community leadership. He serves as Chair of the West Sacramento Parks, Recreation & Intergenerational Services Commission and is a member of the Yolo County Juvenile Justice & Delinquency Prevention Commission. Regionally, he sits on the Sacramento Metro Chamber’s Public Policy Council and Metro EDGE Leadership Council, a premier network of under-40 leaders in the Sacramento region.Emiliano also holds elected positions as a delegate to the California Democratic Party and as a member of the Yolo County Democratic Central Committee, and as an appointed member of the California Democratic Party’s Chicano Latino Caucus collaborating with members, local leaders, and state elected officials on key issues affecting the Latino community across the state. In 2024, Emiliano was honored by Comstock’s Magazine as one of the Young Professionals of the Year. That same year, at just 22 years old—and while working full-time and completing his undergraduate degree—he took a bold leap and ran for West Sacramento City Council in the newly created District 1. As the youngest person ever to run for office in the city, he entered what became the most hotly contested local race in the region. Although he ultimately fell short by just 49 votes, his campaign sparked region-wide engagement and marked a defining moment in his public service journey.Emiliano holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and continues to dedicate himself to building a more equitable, vibrant future for the communities he serves.
