Passionate about the evolving landscape of media and technology, I am a dynamic professional with a background in data journalism. Currently pursuing a master’s in media, culture, and technology at the University of Virginia, I am deeply engaged in researching data journalism, data ethics, data governance, and data infrastructures under the guidance of scholars like Dr. Mona Sloane, who is overseeing our ongoing study on the use of data and AI tools in journalism.My journey in data journalism began during my undergraduate years at Brown University, where I created my own curriculum in data journalism. There, I explored various aspects of data-driven storytelling, from sourcing datasets and conducting primary analysis to crafting compelling narratives and designing visualizations. My experiences at Brown equipped me with the skills to tackle complex issues and communicate insights effectively, whether through articles, infographics, podcasts, or multimedia presentations.Throughout my career, I\'ve had the privilege of contributing to prominent media outlets and organizations, including Stacker, where I served as a data reporter, sourcing datasets, pitching original headlines, and analyzing trends in public health, science, and technology. Additionally, my role as a writer for Nightingale allows me to explore the creative nuances of data science, visualization, and journalism.Beyond my professional endeavors, I am deeply committed to fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing within the community. As a Project Mentor for Columbia University\'s Lede Program for Data Journalism, I provided guidance to students on best practices in data collection, analysis, and storytelling, nurturing the next generation of data journalists and storytellers.Currently, I am conducting a study exploring the use of data and AI tools in the professional practice of journalism. This study, a collaboration between the University of Virginia, New York University, and MuckRock, is funded by the Patrick J. McGovern Foundation.
