ABOUT EMILE BENSEDRINE
As a recent graduate from Cornell University with a B.S. in Urban and Regional Studies and a minor in Landscape Architecture, I have a strong interest in creating sustainable and resilient urban environments that foster social and environmental justice. I have gained valuable experience as a Project Assistant at the Susan Christopherson Center for Community Planning, where I designed and developed digital resources for Circularity, Reuse, and Zero Waste Development (CR0WD), and as a Project Manager at Design Connect, where I managed a team of students on a waterfront revitalization project in Waverly, NY. As a Course Instructor at Cornell Outdoor Education, I have also developed my skills in teaching, communication, and leadership, as well as my passion for outdoor recreation and conservation. My multidisciplinary background encompasses real-world and academic projects ranging from inter-regional land use policy, to park design and reparative engagement around food justice.Now, as I take my next steps as a planner by returning to New York City where I spent many years growing up. I am eager to learn more about how government, communities, and the private sector interact and work together to deliver complex and transformative planning projects.
