About Eileen Gates

I have spent the vast majority of my professional life within technology, most recently ed tech, in varying capacities. I’m passionate about technology that facilitates enriched, meaningful experiences while allowing humans to focus on what only humans can do. I’m a lover of learning and a naturally intellectually curious person. I’ve played numerous roles in complex engagements centered around the implementation, deployment, and utilization of technology, as well as leadership of the teams involved in the same. I’ve developed a strong grasp of and ability to speak to and engage with all of the required stakeholder groups within an organization in order to obtain buy-in, drive successful implementation, delivery, and adoption of technology tools and platforms. I’m very passionate about people, collaboration, and amplifying the capabilities and voices of those around me. I take pride in my ability to communicate through multiple modalities and around challenging topics. I listen before speaking, ask a lot of questions, and solicit input and feedback from others. I prefer to apply my talents to an organization driven by a meaningful mission. I often thrive in chaos. My professional years prior to VitalSource centered around talent acquisition, management, employee onboarding and engagement. During these years, I implemented recruitment management solutions, employee onboarding programs, and participated in the rollout of compensation benchmarking and performance management initiatives.I remain committed to people, customers, processes, and technology. In addition to my professional experience, I’m passionate about the outdoors, travel, reading, writing, podcasts, puzzles, and board games. I’ve recently re-adopted the Oxford comma.I’m about as close to a Raleigh native as one can find but my current search for the perfect role and organization extends beyond its boundaries.
