Who am I.I am a Guidance, Navigation, and Controls Engineer. It has been my experience, that in major Aerospace design and development, GN & C is the nexus of design. It requires an in-depth understanding of navigation, guidance, and control systems including algorithms, software, and sensor and effector hardware as well as a solid systems level understand of the overall design process including requirement definition, allocation, decomposition, verification, test, and design certification. Similarly, most disciplines feed some information to GN & C for modeling, simulation, and design so at least a tertiary understanding other aerospace disciplines is required. A good GN & C engineer has the opportunity to do math and be a part of the entire process.I thoroughly enjoy designing new systems and continually and diligently working to develop the skills necessary to take a design from concept, through preliminary design, to certification and physical realization. I enjoy developing these skills for myself but more importantly in teams because I understand that great accomplishment requires many capable hands.
