ABOUT EMELIA ARMSTEAD
Emelia is a dynamic communications specialist with 10+ years of experience, and a focus on equity and inclusion. After receiving her bachelor\'s degree in Public Relations from the renowned S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, Emelia spent three years working with the educational equity organization Teach For America, where she honed skills in: relationship building, strategic communication, public speaking, training and adult education, and more. Emelia has long had a passion for making the world a more equitable and inclusive place, and is constantly seeking opportunities to leverage her communications skills to advance these goals. For the past 5 years, Emelia has been working in the exciting and ever-changing cannabis industry. In her current role as Engagement and Communications Specialist for an industry-leading company of over employees, she looks forward to continuing to use her communications expertise to better the world around her, specifically through: creating learning and engagement experiences to integrate equity and inclusion into workplace culture, reviewing policies and practices to determine how our processes could be more equitable, and working to remove barriers that have historically excluded marginalized groups from access to resources, support and advancement.
