Drug Logistics and Supply Chain Area: management of drug inventory and warehouse (planning and forecast, procurement, resource management, orders, stock management), management of drug prescriptions (prescription and medication review, advice to clinical departments, therapeutic switches), management of requests for inclusion in the formulary (preparation of the preliminary investigation and discussion of the request for inclusion before the Drug Technical Committee), monitoring of antibiotic prescriptions. Medical Device Area: stock management and prescription management for certain therapeutic areas and categories (A, B, C, F, H and M according to CND classification). Prescription review (drug-device and device-drug switches). Vaccines area: warehouse and order management (forecast for the vaccination campaign). Reception, storage and maintenance of the cold chain. Processing of requests. Drug Compounding Area: preparation of non-sterile officinal and magistral preparations (capsules, syrups and topical preparations) for adults and paediatrics (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Paediatrics and Paediatric Cardiology). Support to clinical departments in choosing the most appropriate therapeutic option based on the Hospital Drug Formulary, Galenic Formulary and import opportunities. Distribution Area: planning, ordering and distribution of medicines for patients affected by rare neuromuscular diseases. Clinical Trials Area: management of investigational medicinal products (orders/shipments, receipt, storage, maintenance of the cold chain, traceability). DDI Team: Member of the hospital team consisting of medical pharmacologists, pharmacists and biologists whose task is to advise clinicians on drug-drug interactions.
