ABOUT EMANUELE D ANTRASSI
Emanuele D\'Antrassi, born in Taranto on March 20, 1989, moved to Verona at a young age following the movements dictated by his parents\' work. He arrived in the Venetian lagoon in 2009 and graduated in architecture from the I.U.A.V. in 2012. The architectural practice provided him with a modus operandi but it is not with true love. His interests pushed towards a smaller design scale, furniture and objects, set-ups and study of interior spaces - and the privileged material was glass. He enrolled in the blown glass school, Abate Zanetti of Murano, where he learned the basics of glass blowing. Immediately after he joined Venini, a historic Venetian furnace that has always been close to the great masters of Design. He assembled the fragments lamps by Campana Brothers and provided support in the role of a glass blowing assistant to the master glassmaker. Once the Venetian period was over, the cycle of studies continues first in Sao Paulo, Brazil, at the University of Architecture ad Urbanism, Escola da Cidade and then, at the Politecnico di Milano, where it ends with a degree in Architecture of interior spaces (2016). After graduating in 2016, he accepted the call from Zara Home, where he held the position of Industrial Designer until 2021. Summing 15 Summer-Spring / Autumn-Winter collections, he designed the glassware and all the glass table accessories required according to the trends that push the “fast-fashion”. Learning new techniques and methods of industrial production with each collection, it was complementary from the first experience of Venetian artisan production. He also has interest in other materials with different characteristics such as borosilicate, tempered glass, and recycled glass.
