I’m a Design Educator and University Professor on a mission to reshape how we teach design — not just as a tool for aesthetics, but as a force for equity, empathy, and impact. After over a decade in the creative industry — spanning health tech, pharma, retail, and higher education — I’m channeling that experience into the classroom, the curriculum, and the future of design education. My capstone project, “Universal Design as an Integral Part of the Education Curriculum in Puerto Rico,” is the foundation of this mission. It’s a bold initiative to train teachers — across all disciplines — in core design principles that celebrate diversity, foster creativity, and build inclusive learning spaces. Through workshops, manuals, and real-world collaboration, I’m helping educators use design thinking as a tool for transformation. Whether I’m developing courses, mentoring students, or bridging UX, technology, and pedagogy, I believe education should do more than inform — it should empower.
