ABOUT ELZBIETA SZOSTAK

I am an experienced civil engineer with over 17- years’ experience of water engineering and consultancy. I have been responsible for the preparation and delivery of site-specific flood risk assessments and planning documents including Environmental Statement chapters for a wide range of developments including private and public sector, highway, rail and power schemes. I have also been responsible for design and delivery of foul water and surface water drainage systems, including development of sustainable surface water management systems, for a variety of development projects and has taken drainage designs from concept through to construction. I have extensive experience in modelling of drainage systems using the industry standard, MicroDrainage software package.I am also knowledgeable of the assessment processes set out in the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) and I am experienced in the assessment of highways projects, including WebTAG and WelTAG assessments. I am experienced in the assessment of the potential effects that new developments may have on the ability of the water environment to meet the objectives of the Water Framework Directive (WFD).I also have extensive expertise in reviewing of planning applications and providing comments/recommendations to Lead Local Flood Authorities and Councils in regard to flood risk management and sustainable drainage aspects.
