ABOUT ELYSSA GERSEN-THURMAN
I have extensive experience in social services including clinical/administrative management, program design/implementation, individual counseling, group facilitation, case management, and promoting employee wellness. I am a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and a New York State Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I have provided counseling services to persons with substance use disorders, mental health diagnoses, traumatic brain injury, and physical disabilities as well as to veterans, young adults, LGBTQ+ individuals, and returning citizens. Throughout my career, I have assisted many clients overcome multiple barriers to achieve personal growth, independence and self-sufficiency. I am passionate about counseling, mental health & wellness, social/racial justice, and advocacy.
