I support the development of updated academic toolkits on legal approaches to noncommunicable disease (NCD) prevention under the Global RECAP Programme ( joint initiative between WHO, IDLO and IDRC). This work contributes to strengthening legal and public health education in East, West, and Southeast Asia and Africa by equipping academics and students with regionally grounded, rights-based tools for policy engagement and legal reform.Key responsibilities:• Leading the review and update of two academic toolkits (East Africa and South Asia editions), covering international frameworks, regional legal systems, and national-level approaches to healthy diets and physical activity.• Conducting legal and policy research across multiple jurisdictions including Ghana, Mauritius, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Nepal, Indonesia, Thailand, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka.• Drafting new country chapters and legal annexes, and reviewing contributions from local academic partners to ensure alignment with public health law and human rights standards.• Advising academic teams in-country on legal drafting and contributing to capacity-building through the development of student exercises and guidance materials.• Ensuring consistency with UN editorial standards and contributing to the publication-ready finalisation of both toolkits.• Collaborating with IDLO’s Health Law team and regional academic networks to validate content and promote practical legal education.

I am a Global Health Lawyer working across legal, policy, and health systems to advance health equity, global health security, and sustainable development.My work focuses on using the law as a strategic tool to address complex public health challenges—including noncommunicable disease (NCD) prevention, the right to adequate food,global health security / infectious diseases, civil registration and vital statistics (CRVS), health workforce protection and the implementation of international health and human rights obligations.
