Interim Leader of Interventional Cardiology, Neurology and Vascular Units, which includes Cardiology Lab, STEMI Center, Stroke Center, and Stress Lab at Maui Memorial Medical Center, a Kaiser Permanente-affiliated provider.In this role, I provide leadership and supervision along with direct patient care to an interdisciplinary team that includes RNs, NPs, interventional radiology technicians, and angio/stress/special procedure RNs for heart, near, vascular, and interventional/special procedures. Among my duties, are coordinating procedural schedules and developing competencies and orientation programs for nursing and technologists. I also round on patients and families to ensure optimum patient satisfaction.As the nurse leader, I manage all service-line personnel, budget, payroll, staffing, hiring, and departmental education and standards. My accomplishments here have included coordinating a continuous readiness program for The Joint Commission as well as implementing an education competency program and new-procedure training for nursing staff.
