ABOUT ELSA LIGAYA DINGKUHN

Passionate about sustainable agriculture and agri-environmental governance, I specialize in defining transition pathways toward sustainable agri-food systems. With a strong interdisciplinary approach, I integrate biophysical and social sciences to tackle complex challenges in land-use / land-management governance, soil health, and stakeholder engagement. I aim to bridge the gap between scientific knowledge and practical implementation, and to work closely with farmers, scientists, policymakers, and other stakeholders. 🥾 Over the years, I have developed a diverse skill set through hands-on experience in agricultural research, facilitation and training, and development work. My expertise ranges from conducting research, coordinating multidisciplinary projects, to conducting feasibility studies and facilitating organic farming transitions. I bring a holistic perspective to sustainable agriculture and food systems. My experience spans research, fieldwork, program management, advocacy, and capacity building. My PhD research, conducted at Wageningen University & Research (Netherlands) in collaboration with Teagasc (Ireland) and the George Washington University (USA), delves into governance gaps and opportunities for sustainable land use and management. It examines drivers on land use decisions globally, influential stakeholders in farmers\' networks, and farmers\' motivations and barriers to adopt sustainable practices. My expertise includes: Agri-environmental policy and governance Sustainability transitions in agri-food systems Stakeholder engagement and networking Interdisciplinary and participatory research Behavioral studies Social Network Analysis Agroecology/ Organic farming consultancy and holistic sustainability assessment Fluent in English and French, with good basis in German, and some notions of Filipino, I thrive in multicultural environments, collaborating across disciplines/sectors to drive solutions for sustainable food systems.
