1. Director of Interpretation

   Chicago Botanic Garden

   I lead interpretive strategy at the Chicago Botanic Garden. Working with horticulturists, scientists, and community partners, I develop site-specific exhibitions, signage, and programs connecting visitors to the Garden\'s astonishingly broad work. I also lead research and evaluation efforts, integrating emerging trends from the museum/culture sector and conducting formative and summative analyses of visitor experiences. To date:* led a cross-departmental team through a rigorous process to publish a new interpretive framework, A Garden Made for You, codifying storytelling guidelines that center inclusion and accessibility * served as creative strategy lead on three outdoor/indoor exhibitions featuring strong narrative, first voice, and participatory elements * produced experimental signage and programming activating display gardens in new ways * led the Garden\'s first-ever Community Advisory Group, enabling the Glencoe campus to build friendships in Little Village, North Lawndale, Garfield Park, Austin, and beyond; co-produced with advisory partners Taste of Community, an eight-part program series exploring the intersections between food, nature, and culture* managed a team of internal staff, seasonal associates, and a large corps of interpretive volunteers * implemented a federal grant and supported narrative writing for additional fundraising and reporting
