About Eloa M.
For over 13 years, I built a career around one core belief: that understanding people is the foundation of everything — whether you\'re building relationships across cultures and borders or sitting across from someone in their most vulnerable moment. A combination of work, volunteering, and a lifelong curiosity about the world took me across North and Latin America, Asia-Pacific, East Africa, and Western Europe. I learned to listen across languages, build trust across cultures, and translate complex human needs into meaningful impact. That experience didn\'t just shape my career — it shaped how I see the world and the people in it. Now, I\'m channeling that same curiosity and deep respect for human experience into a new chapter. I\'m currently completing my MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling Psychology at Nova Southeastern University and interning at Memorial Regional Hospital\'s Outpatient Behavioral Health Center — where my multicultural background, and my own experience of being a foreigner navigating unfamiliar systems, informs how I show up: with cultural humility, openness, and a genuine commitment to meeting each person where they are. I am deeply passionate about trauma-informed care, with a particular focus on complex trauma among marginalized populations — including immigrants, refugees, and LGBTQIA+ individuals — who are disproportionately exposed to chronic trauma and often underserved by mainstream mental health systems. I believe culturally responsive practice is not optional; it is essential when working across intersecting identities and lived experiences. I look forward to building a practice that reflects the diverse world I\'ve had the privilege of living and working in. Always happy to connect with fellow mental health professionals!Expected graduation: December 2026
