ABOUT ELOAH MAKASSI

Eloah Makassi is a dynamic force in international education, youth development, and public diplomacy. Passionate about designing cross-cultural initiatives that empower young people and strengthen education systems, she works to bridge innovation, education, and community impact across global contexts.Most recently, Eloah served as the Washington, DC Regional Fellow for the U.S. ExchangeAlumni Fellowship, where she designed and led programs that connected Fulbright, YES Abroad, Gilman, Peace Corps, and other U.S. exchange alumni across the DMV region. Through storytelling, networking, and cultural engagement, she helped strengthen a vibrant, interconnected alumni community rooted in global experience and local impact.Previously, as a Princeton in Africa Fellow in northern Tanzania, Eloah taught digital literacy and computer science, launched Girls-in-STEM clubs, and helped modernize her host school’s computer lab and digital curriculum. Her work inspired her academic interests in education technology, youth capacity building, and policy solutions that expand access to equitable learning across Sub-Saharan Africa.Eloah earned her B.A. in International Studies from American University’s School of International Service, where she was one of 25 students selected for the Global Scholars Program, an accelerated academic track focused on global inequality, development, and Sub-Saharan Africa. Her research explored how Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies, including AI, cloud computing, and 3D printing, can catalyze inclusive growth for African youth.Born in France, raised in the United States, and rooted in Congolese and Angolan heritage, Eloah brings a deeply multicultural perspective to all that she does. As a Kennedy-Lugar YES Abroad Scholar, she spent a year in Ghana living with a host family, attending a local high school, and volunteering with Future of Africa, where she supported the reintegration of street-connected youth into formal education.Eloah’s work lives at the intersection of education, technology, and diplomacy. She is committed to building innovative systems that expand opportunity, connect communities, and inspire the next generation of change makers.
