It has ushered in a ‘new normal’ and created significant disruption for insurance businesses. An Agile approach can help insurance companies respond more effectively.While an Agile approach is not without its challenges, there is evidence that when Agile principles are properly implemented, they can drive and sustain organisational change and operational excellence by empowering individuals and teams to reach their highest potential. The SAFe Agile framework is a framework for scaling Agile. It empowers complex organisations to achieve the benefits of Lean-Agile software and systems development at scale.Our proposalAt a time of considerable disruption, the insurance industry needs to be willing to innovate. While it may require a culture shift from many organisations, the adoption of an Agile approach could allow it to respond more effectively to change. However, changing people’s behaviours, attitudes, and skills—and in the end, the culture of an entire enterprise—is no small feat. An Agile approach needs to identify the right people and empower them to make a change. These include credible change practitioners who can implement change and as well as to coach and teach others to implement and support the change.
