In my role as the Learning and Evaluation Lead at EDC, I lead the design, data collection, and analysis of four qualitative studies across five countries (Bangladesh, Colombia, Sierra Leone, South Africa, and Uganda) as part of the PLAY 2.0 Initiative funded by the LEGO Foundation. My responsibilities include developing research instruments, conducting interviews, and facilitating learning workshops and dissemination events with stakeholders. I also collaborate with PLAY 2.0 research and implementation partners to promote learning among the partners involved in the initiative.

ABOUT ELNAZ SAFARHA

International Education researcher with over 12 years of academic and professional experience in conducting research, and evaluations (impact and performance) of education programs in international development settings; extensive experience in designing and applying quantitative approaches (experimental and quasi-experimental) from developing evaluation plans and instruments to conducting enumerators’ training, data quality assessment and analysis, as well as report writing; strong qualitative research experience in conducting different types of interviews, observations, cognitive testing, as well as participatory research working with local stakeholders; developed, trained enumerators on, and analyzed various literacy assessment tools; managed large, multi-year projects in Burkina Faso, Laos, Liberia, and Mali as a principal investigator of impact and performance evaluations using mixed methods; experience in conducting research focusing on primary education, inclusive education, child labor, gender-based-violence, and youth reproductive health working with various donors/clients, including ILAB, NGOs such as CRS and Save the Children, USAID, and USDA.
