ABOUT DAVID ELLIS

With over seven years of experience as VP of Residential Marketing at GAF, the largest roofing and waterproofing manufacturer in North America, I lead the residential marketing and new product development teams, applying agile principles and practices as a Certified Scrum Product Owner. My mission is to deliver customer-centric solutions that meet the evolving needs of the market and create value for our stakeholders. Before joining GAF, I held various leadership positions at Tyco Fire Products, a global leader in fire protection and security solutions, where I managed the global line of fire sprinklers, nozzles, and CPVC products, and designed and facilitated the Innovation Workshop program, which generated radically different and innovative products and processes within a five-day, rapid-development framework. I have a strong background in general management, P&L ownership, acquisition and integration, and process reengineering, with an MBA from top-tier UVA Darden School of Business and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Rochester. I also served as a U.S. Navy nuclear submarine warfare officer, where I developed the skills of discipline, teamwork, and problem-solving under pressure.
