ABOUT ELLIOTT BALES

Elliott Bales is the Founder and CEO of Stalking Horse Productions LLC, a Virginia-based film and audio production company. Stalking Horse Productions creates, produces, and acquires stories in video, audio, and written media to share under-served narratives about communities and regions that are “hidden”. There are great stories being created everyday by individuals and teams who create art out of passion with resources scraped together. The changes in the media landscape provide ways to get those stories to an audience.Elliott is also an award-winning actor and veteran living in the Washington DC metropolitan area. After a 26-year career in the United States Army, he finally returned to the path of story teller he began some five decades ago. A life of real-world experience in the military, industry and non-profit sectors provides the material to infuse characters with a genuineness and relatability that connects with audiences, critics and fellow performers. His work ethic and commitment to the production team as a dedicated partner are hallmarks of his efforts. Elliott is a member of SAG-AFTRA and Actor’s Equity and his film and television credits include Legends and Lies: Patriots, The Coming Storm, The Sultan and the Saint and the award-winning short film Wireless. He has also appeared in numerous cable television and industrial film productions. His regional theater credits include Kleptocracy, Junk and The Great Society at Arena Stage, Kings at Studio Theater, Henry IV Part 1 at Riverside Theater, White Christmas and Annie at Little Theater on the Square, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Folger Theater. Elliott has also narrated a number of successful audio books including How to Self Publish, The Infernal Machine, Promises Kept, Saxum, and How to Learn and Memorize Russian Vocabulary available on Audible. He is a proud member of Veterans in Media and Entertainment Elliott is also a strategist, operational planner, and trainer with over 30 years of experience in government, business, and the non-profit sectors. He is a passionate communicator with a unique ability to form and build teams, leverage existing organizational strengths, and help visualize future goals merged with concrete plans for achieving them. He routinely uses his performing skills in narrative storytelling to effectively engage training audiences to find common ground and improve internal team communications.
