What do I do? Mostly, I make employers\' lives easier. I can\'t do that on my own, of course, and maintaining our strong stable of clients is only possible as I work with a brilliantly talented and engaged group of people across our Exeter, Truro and Taunton offices.As a solicitor in our Legal 500 and Chambers ranked Employment team, I act as partner lead for the employer support area of our team. That includes our HRExpress service, which supports over 200 organisations with day to day HR and employment matters. I sit within our social housing sector, which supports a large number of social housing providers and registered landlords. I do, though, switch hats and work closely with employees too, making sure that their rights are protected and that they get the best outcome in whatever situation they\'re in.HRExpressHRExpress is a fixed fee service run by a dedicated HR and legal team. It has significant impact for our clients in forming a collaborative relationship where we want you to see us as an extension of your team.Employer supportHRExpress won\'t be everyone and I frequently work with employers outside of the service too. These instructions tend to be based around challenging and sensitive problem-solving. I spend time ensuring I know where an employer wants to get to and what the direction of their business is, so that my advice is tailored to that. I am here to let them focus on their job, knowing that I have their back.Working with individualsAlongside my work for employers, I love working with individuals. I have always found that my experience of acting for both sides is extremely beneficial and means that I have an insight into the workings and tactics of my opponent. Employees are probably instructing me at a very difficult time for them personally and I work with them to agree a strategy which protects their interests and allows them to move their working relationship forward in the most beneficial way possible for them. Whether working with individuals or organisations, my work is wholly relationships-focused. I love that my specialism is all about people and I take every step necessary to ensure that clients get the best outcome possible. I have been described by former clients as “a real expert in her field”, “extremely efficient and straight talking” and “professional, yet friendly”.Outside of work, I enjoy watching sport (particularly and ), cooking 🥑🥗, reading and spending time with my two daughters.
