About Elliane Hall
I am a recent graduate of the Applied Economics Master\'s program at Montana State University, where my research focused on housing market responses to wildfire risk. Specifically, my thesis investigated how housing prices respond to wildfire events across areas with varying levels of predicted wildfire hazard. Growing up in Australia shaped my early interest in evaluating wildfire risk. My experiences traveling as a competitive ski racer further deepened my interest in how environmental conditions impact communities and local economies. At the University of Utah’s David Eccles School of Business, I earned a Bachelor of Science in Quantitative Analysis of Markets and Organizations, with an emphasis in Business Economics & Analytics and a minor in Advanced Financial Analysis. This program provided a strong foundation in data-driven decision-making, quantitative analysis, and business analytics. At Montana State University, I strengthened my foundation in research and data analysis, working with big data, spatial analysis, and applied econometrics. Through my thesis and roles as a teaching and research assistant, I also strengthened my skills in critical thinking, communication, and independent research.I am currently working at Northern Rocky Mountain Economic Development District (NRMEDD), where I apply economic analysis and research to support regional development initiatives. My work focuses on using data to strengthen communities and support sustainable economic growth.
