About Ellen Vega

I am a creator to my core. I spent 4 years creating art and learning new skills while completing my BFA in Sculpture at SUNY New Paltz. I worked with a variety of mediums and became proficient with color theory, wood working, welding, mold making, general handyman work and even sewing during my time on campus. After graduation, in pursuit of learning a trade, I moved to NYC to study makeup artistry. I spent the first few years assisting top artists and honing my skills while continuing to take on my own work. I\'ve been working as a freelance makeup artist for the last 14 years and feel grateful for the experiences and opportunities it has provided. However, being a creator who enjoys getting my hands dirty, solving problems and thinking outside the box, I felt that I was only using part of my creative abilities. I have switched industries in hopes of utilizing all the skills I have to offer and have pursued a career as an interior designer. I completed an Interior Design certificate program through the New School at Parsons and began my journey as a freelance designer, followed by a full time position at citizenM hotels.

   Responsible for the interior guest experience of all US citizenM hotels with a focus on styling,lighting, furniture and greenery. Includes design, execution and maintenance of operational hotels and new developments- Responsible for the curation, procurement and implementation of all styling in the guest facingareas of the hotels- Act as the Design representative to maintenance and operational teams, as well as 3rd party operators to maintain our brand standards and identity when implementing upgrades or changes.
