As executive director of the For Women Foundation for-women.org - Ellen puts her decades of experience in working in environment and development to work supporting the empowerment of women, girls and their communities in Africa and Asia. Her environmental consulting work is based on over 25 years of experience as an environmental specialist, with a focus on natural resource management. Areas of expertise include sustainable fisheries; protected area management; and obsolete pesticides and other persistent toxic substances. Ellen also has extensive experience in assisting developing countries in the implementation of global environmental treaties, such as the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants and the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer. She speaks English, French and Spanish and has experience working in over 80 countries around the world. She is also the guiding teacher of Wild Presence Meditation helping people to connect with themselves through meditation in nature and wilderness.
