ABOUT ELLEN ROWE

I work at the Government of Canada (GoC) as a compliance and policy analyst. I am interested in building a strong responsible tech ecosystem to tackle wicked problems (ex. leveraging AI to lessen healthcare wait times) as well as improving transatlantic relationships to do with cyber and North American/International security, ethical AI, and democratization. In 2021/22- I completed a Master in Public Policy at Max Bell School of Public Policy (McGill) after being rewarded an entrance scholarship. As part of my master degree, I chose to work on an AI policy project. My team and I were asked to determine How might AI be harnessed in federal regional economic development policy making? You can find our final policy report here: - I also had the pleasure of working for McGill\'s Centre for Media, Technology and Democracy. I enjoyed working as a research assistant creating tech informed policy (TIP) on facial recognition technology, AI, and content moderation. Feel free to connect with me if you are working or researching in a similar field of interest. Always looking for new opportunities to collaborate and improve my knowledge.I strive to learn something new everyday, advocate for women and persons with disabilities in tech, and am a rowing enthusiast.
